Teqball’s Asian growth continues in Balochistan, Pakistan

Leading sports officials in Pakistan have introduced teqball and para teqball to the province of Balochistan

Leading sports officials in Pakistan have introduced teqball and para teqball to the province of Balochistan, following the growth of the sport in other areas of the country and across Asia.

An inauguration ceremony was hosted in Quetta, which is the provincial capital and largest city in Balochistan, as well as the 10th largest city in Pakistan. The event was the start of a promotion drive from the Pakistan Teqball Federation, the Balochistan Teqball Association, the Sports Department of Balochistan and the Quetta Sports Ministry, to provide new and exciting sporting opportunities for young people in the region.

During the event, FITEQ donated a Teq table to the province and remains in contact with the Pakistan Teqball Federation regarding the implementation of the National Federation Development programme across the country.

Quetta Provincial Minister for Sports Abdul Khaliq Hazara and Pakistan Teqball Federation President Mian Absar Ali led the inauguration ceremony, with Balochistan Teqball Association President Mati Ur Rahman also addressing the attendees. All three leading sports figures commented on the opportunities teqball and para teqball can bring to young people in the province.

The year ahead will see FITEQ and National Federations in Asia focus on the continuation of sustainable growth ahead of what will be a landmark year in Asia in 2023, where the sport is part of the Sanya Asian Beach Games as a medal sport, as well as the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games as a demonstration sport.
