Teqball journey begins in Bhutan as first club formed

The first teqball club in Bhutan has been established, marking an important first step in the country’s journey with the world’s fastest growing sport. The club has been set up at the elite sport facilities at the Ugyen Academy, based in the district of Punakha.

The club has already attracted talented young athletes from across the district and interest in the sport is growing throughout Bhutan. The formation of the first club will provide the foundations for the sport to develop in Punakha and the 19 other districts of Bhutan.

The next step for teqball in Bhutan is the establishment of a National Federation, which would then lead the nationwide growth of the sport. The elite level athletes that emerge from Bhutan will have the opportunity to compete in major FITEQ competitions, as well as multisport events in Asia, such as the Sanya Asian Beach Games and the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
