FITEQ deepens strategic ties in Shandong, China
In a significant step forward for the international development of Teqball, Mr. Gábor Borsányi, Co-founder of Teqball and President of the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ), met with key leaders at Shandong Sport University in Jinan to strengthen ties and chart a long-term vision for the sport’s growth in China.
The meeting followed the successful staging of the Teqball World Series Jinan, held in April, which marked a milestone in the sport’s expansion in Asia. Building on this momentum, Mr. Borsányi engaged in high-level discussions with senior representatives from Shandong Sport University and affiliated institutions who play influential roles in shaping the future of Chinese sports.
Among the distinguished figures present was Mr. Wang Yi, Party Secretary and President of both the National Football Academy and National Basketball Academy, whose leadership in elite sports education underscores the strategic importance of this partnership. His involvement signifies a strong endorsement of Teqball’s inclusion in the broader framework of national sports development. Also instrumental in the talks was Mr. Lu Gongchen, Principal of the university's Affiliated Middle School, highlighting the role of youth development and early engagement in Teqball training and education programs. His contribution pointed toward integrating Teqball into the school’s physical education curriculum, further rooting the sport within the academic system. Mr. Shan Tao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Business Department at both national academies lent crucial insight into aligning Teqball with governmental sport policy initiatives. His support paves the way for seamless integration into institutional programs and future commercial collaborations. Representing international collaboration and development planning, Mr. Zhao Jianmin, Head of the Development Evaluation and Planning Department and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, emphasized the role of FITEQ as a global partner. His office's participation reinforces the significance of the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between FITEQ and Shandong Sport University, formalizing a long-term strategic partnership. Additionally, Mr. Wen Xiaodong, Deputy Head of the Competition Training Department, and Mr. Zhu Xueqiang, Vice President of Competitive Sports, contributed their expertise in training and athlete development. Their involvement ensures that the collaboration will foster elite Teqball talent and support China's ambitions in international competitions.
The highlight of the visit was the unveiling ceremony of the Teqball Training Center plaque, a symbolic and practical milestone for the sport in China. The center will serve as a hub for athlete development, coach education, and international exchange, embodying the shared vision of FITEQ and Shandong Sport University to position Jinan as a key player in the global Teqball movement.
This partnership marks a bold new chapter in Teqball's global journey, with China poised to become a central pillar in the sport's growth especially after the globe's first International Teqball Research Centre opened in Beijing. Mr. Borsányi expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception and shared enthusiasm, stating, "Our collaboration with Shandong Sport University and its network of national academies represents not only a commitment to sport but a shared belief in innovation, youth engagement, and international friendship through Teqball."
As FITEQ continues to expand its presence worldwide, the partnership in Jinan is a testament to the power of sport to bridge cultures and inspire future generations.
