The restructured Adriatic Teqball League begins its season in the picturesque setting of Ohrid, featuring two categories: men’s singles and doubles, with a $3,000 prize money.

On June 14th, Ohrid, North Macedonia hosts the first stop of the 2025 Adriatic Teqball League. The ATL became the region’s main competition. In the last two years, it attracted 136 athletes from the regional countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia with wild card entries from Greece, Poland, and Italy further enriching the competitive landscape. This year, the organisers together with FITEQ opened the tournament for everyone.

With the changes, the first event of the Adriatic Teqball League in 2025 in Ohrid, North Macedonia hosts 26 athletes representing 12 countries. The new rule already shows its effect as the highest-seeded athlete in men’s singles is the world champion silver and European bronze medallist Marek Pokwap (POL) who is currently 4th at the FITEQ World Ranking. Multiple ATL winner, and three-time world champion, Nikola Mitro (SRB) is right behind him at the WR and also wants to stay on the throne he took in 2024, in Ohrid. Dimitar Pejchinovski is the best local athlete regarding placements at international events, however, with multiple world championship medals, Szabolcs Ilyes (ROU) and Arpad Sipos (HUN) bring the experience to the table. Montenegrin champion, Marko Zarkovic is ready to finish on the podium at the international level for the first time.

In men’s doubles, the three-time world champion duo, Bogdan Marojevic (SRB) and Mitro stand out from the field. Their main challenger can be Pokwap/Ilyes. Andrija Jovanovic (MNE) and Zarkovic should also considered to be seen in the streamed session starting from 6 PM (CET), live on TEQ TV while the spectators would go frenzy to see Pejchinovski along with Kosta Trifunoski (MKD) as the local heroes. The rest of the field is full of young talents who use this opportunity in preparation for the inaugural European Youth Teqball Championships and seasoned veterans.

The group stage and quarterfinals will be played indoors at Grigor Parlichev Primary School Sports Hall while the semifinals and finals will be played outdoors at Gradski kej ’Makedonija’. The SFs and finals will be streamed on TEQ TV.
