CUPES delegation visited FITEQ HQ
On 4 July 2025, a high-level delegation from the Capital University of Physical Education and Sport (CUPES), Beijing, visited the headquarters of the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ), marking another important step in their growing partnership. The delegation was led by Ms. Zhang Xia, Dean and President of CUPES, and included key figures from the university.
The cooperation between CUPES and FITEQ was established three years ago when the university introduced Teqball, and the third academic year is about to start in September 2025.
CUPES and FITEQ have achieved significant milestones together, including the launch of the 1st International Teqball Research Centre on the CUPES campus on 20 September 2024. The centre plays a vital role in advancing Teqball-related sports science, covering areas such as injury prevention, age-specific training, and sports psychology.
Besides Ms. Zhang Xia, Dean and President of CUPES, Mr. Liu Hai Yuan, Director of the Postgraduate Department, Mr. Zhang Yan, Director of the Sport & Medicine Integration Research Centre, and Ms. Shen Shan, Deputy Director of the University Office, were part of the Chinese delegation.
“CUPES is proud to give home to the 1st International Teqball Research Centre, which has proven to be a fundamental entity at CUPES for sports research and science. The growing popularity of Teqball, as an elective subject, among the students is additional proof of the success of the bilateral cooperation between the university and FITEQ, which the university intends to extend and further develop,” added Ms. Zhang Xia.
The group was received by Mr. Laszlo Vajda, Secretary General of FITEQ, who praised the ongoing cooperation between the two institutions.
"CUPES and FITEQ have developed a cooperation which is exemplary between an international federation and a higher education institute, involving sports science and sports development essential for the future of Teqball as a sport and reaching global significance,” said Mr. Laszlo Vajda.
As Teqball enters its second academic year as a curriculum subject at CUPES, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to research, education, and the global development of Teqball.
