Packed weekend schedule features world’s best players

This weekend (26-27 June) will see seven events hosted across six countries, with teqers set to compete in National Challenger Series and Challenger Cup competitions.

This weekend (26-27 June) will see seven events hosted across six countries, with teqers set to compete in National Challenger Series and Challenger Cup competitions. Singles and doubles World Number 1 Adam Blazsovics will be looking to continue his excellent recent form in the final round of the Hungarian National Challenger Series, which includes singles, doubles and mixed doubles events.

Meanwhile, Brazil and Czech Republic will host the second round of their respective National Challenger Series events, with athletes again participating in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. After their gold medal in round one, Brazil’s reigning mixed doubles world champions, Natalia Guitler and Marquinhos Vieira, will be looking to make it two titles in a row.

Serbia will host the third round of its National Challenger Series, with World Number 11 Bogdan Marojevic set to take centre stage. The 2018 doubles world champion will be looking for his third successive singles and doubles titles. His doubles partner and fellow world champion, Nikola Mitro, will be seeking an upset over Marojevic in the singles category after two silver medals in the previous rounds, before looking to continue his impressive form in the mixed doubles with partner Maja Umicevic.

Turning to Challenger Cup action, Luneville, France, international players from Algeria, Belgium, Kosovo, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Tunisia will join French teqers for a singles and doubles tournament. France’s Julien Grondin and Hugo Rabeux, as well as Romanian star Szabolcs Ilyes, will by vying for top spot in a competitive singles field.

Heading to the US, Chicago will host a doubles Challenger Cup on 26 June, with doubles World Number 3 Frankie Diaz looing to close the gap on the top two ranked players Adam Blazsovics and Csaba Banyik. On 27 June, the same arena will see the best female teqers from the US, as well as a number of international players, compete in an all-female doubles Challenger Cup.
