It’s almost time for the Teqball World Championships to begin in Germany, with the world’s best Teqers descending on Nuremberg to compete at the KIA Metropol Arena from 23-27 November.

The Teqball World Championships is the most prestigious event in the Teqball calendar, with this year’s instalment being the 5th annual World Championships. 211 athletes from 55 nations are set to compete in all five categories: men’s and women’s singles and doubles, and mixed doubles.

The state-of-the-art venue is one of the leading indoor multi-purpose arenas in Germany, so fans can expect a festival atmosphere as the biggest names in the sport compete for the title of World Champion under a closed roof, trapping the noise inside and enhancing the thrilling atmosphere.

On 27 November, day five, is Final’s Day and the competition will see VAR used by FITEQ referees across all five finals to ensure the highest quality of decision making. This follows on from the successful VAR training camp that our top referees undertook in Budapest at Teqball HQ ahead of the European Teqball Tour in September, which then successfully saw VAR used in the final.

The excitement will be building all week in Nuremberg, with demonstrations taking place throughout the city at the Kornmarkt, Hallplatz, Jakobsplatz, and the historic Lorenzkirche. There will also be Teqball half time shows at various Bundesliga 2 football matches in the build-up to the event, enabling thousands of football fans to get a close look at the sport in person before the start of the Championships.
