Bangkok to host World Teqball Championships 2023

FITEQ announces that the Thai capital, Bangkok welcomes the world’s best teqers for the World Teqball Championships 2023.

Teqball’s governing body, FITEQ announces the host city of the sports' 6th annual world championships. The city of Smile, Bangkok will join the list of World Teqball Championships’ organisers as the first city outside of Europe after Nuremberg (GER), Gliwice (POL), Reims (FRA) and Budapest (HUN).

The event will be held from 29 November until 3 December. As in 2022, there will be five event categories: men’s and women’s singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles.

With 8000 seats, Indoor Stadium Hua Mark is planned to be the home of the World Teqball Championships 2023 which accommodated multiple international sporting events since it was built in 1966 and was renovated in 2012.

"Teqball is mixing traditional sports in the most universal way. In 2023, the Teqball World Championships will be held in Thailand bringing the most skilled teqers in the world together. We cannot wait to see the best athletes of Teqball against each other in the incredible city of Thailand.”

In Nuremberg, at the World Teqball Championships, 211 athletes from 55 nations participated and FITEQ expects more in both numbers as Teqball has now 153 national federations.

For the Teqball Association of Thailand, the World Teqball Championships 2023 is a great opportunity to attract more athletes and become the hub of this amazing sport in the SEA countries.”

The event already has a huge interest as MONO29 from Thailand, will broadcast the matches live.

In multiple countries, athletes will qualify via national qualifier events, before the announcement of one representative per country in singles events, and up to three (including a reserve) representatives in doubles events.
