FITEQ welcomes Myanmar as Its newest National Federation

The International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) has announced the formation of its newest member, the Myanmar Teqball Federation (MTF), marking another milestone in the sport’s rapid expansion across Asia. Officially established on 23 May 2025, MTF is set to bring Teqball – the dynamic, fast-paced sport that combines elements of football and table tennis – to a brand-new audience in Myanmar.

Dr. Htet Khine Win, President of the Myanmar Teqball Federation, acknowledged the sport’s novelty in the country but expressed excitement about its potential. “To be honest, this Teqball sport is unique for us. But Teqball is a very interesting sport because we can see not only techniques, tactics, and skills, but also the fighting spirit, the unity, and teamwork. So, we’ll try our best to develop Teqball sport in Myanmar with sustainable plans,” he said.

On 13 June 2025, the Teqball Association of Thailand (TAT) welcomed an official delegation from MTF for a technical exchange and cooperation discussion. The visiting group, led by Dr. Htet Khine Win alongside Vice President Mr. Soe Moe Kyaw and Deputy Secretary General Mr. Min Oo Kyaing, met with Thai counterparts to explore opportunities for collaboration. Discussions focused on sending Thai coaches, athletes, and referees to Myanmar for Teqball demonstrations and training, organising local competitions in Myanmar with Thai athletes as invited participants, and jointly developing referee expertise in line with FITEQ-standard rules. Another important topic was the preparation of Myanmar athletes for the 2025 SEA Games, which will be hosted by Thailand.

The Thai federation extended invitations for Myanmar athletes to join a regional joint training camp with Laos and Cambodia from 26 August to 26 September 2025, and offered to send two to four referees to Myanmar for a two-week training programme, pending local arrangements.

MTF’s ambitions extend beyond regional cooperation. The federation is preparing for its inaugural national-level competition, the MTF President Cup, scheduled for 18–23 August 2025. This event will mark the first major domestic Teqball tournament in Myanmar, providing a platform for local players to showcase their skills and for fans to experience the sport firsthand.

With the SEA Games on the horizon, strong support from neighbouring Thailand, and a clear plan for sustainable growth, the Myanmar Teqball Federation is stepping confidently into the international Teqball community.
