The first Punjab Teqball Championships was held

In Pakistan, the first Punjab Teqball Championships was organised with 89 players.

With five categories, first Punjab Teqball Championship 2023 was held in Bahawalpur by Punjab Teqball Association in collaboration with Pakistan Teqball Federation and Absar Welfare Foundation.

The first Punjab Teqball Championship was organized in Bahawalnagar, Pakistan where 89 players from all over Punjab participated in five categories.

Divisional Sports Officer Mian Amir Hameed and District Sports Officer Uzmi Imran and Malik Abrar Khokhar, Malik Rashid Babli, Syed Aqil Shah and Sir Khurshid Sahib also attended the event.

General Secretary of Punjab Teqball Association and Vice President of Pakistan Teqball Federation Aqib Khursheed highlighted that there is no shortage of talent in Punjab province and the female teqers will prepare for the upcoming world championships in Thailand. Khursheed further explained that they have long-term plans to organise events like Punjab Teqball championships.

In women's singles, Nighat Nazir won, who also gathered golden medals in women's doubles along with Maryam as well as in mixed doubles with Muhammad Anas. Among men, Talha Bin Tahir was supreme after having beaten Abdul Qadir in the finals of men's singles, while in doubles with a doubles specialist who also took two gold medals home, they finished on the top.

Mian Absar Ali, president of the Pakistan Teqball Federation said "Punjab is the biggest province of Pakistan on the basis of population and development. Punjab Teqball Championships was the biggest competition of Punjab province till now. However, this occasion was not only a cup but a 10-day training camp. Through this competition, we aim to develop permanent registered clubs in all districts of the province. Our goal is to have about 2 registered coaches and 30 officially registered players in each district."
