CTL - The tournament countines in Monaco with heavy starpower

The Challenger Teqball League does not stop and with 46 atletes representing 11 countries, Monaco will held the next stop, this season’s sixth and this time with the three doubles.

From June 27 to 29, the city-state for the first time will organise an international Teqball event as the upcoming rendez-vous of Challenger Teqball League takes place in Monaco with multiple world and European champions and FITEQ World Ranking leaders.

In men’s doubles, the unbeaten duo in 2025, Apor Gyorgydeak (ROU)/Marek Pokwap (POL), are the favourites. One of their biggest challengers will most likely be the category’s world champion from 2023 and current world ranking leader, Balázs Katz (HUN), who is teaming up for the first time with four-time world champion Adam Blazsovics (HUN). World medallist Szabolcs Ilyes (ROU) and Levik Boldizsar (HUN) may cause surprises. The world championship silver medallist Julian Grondin (FRA), who is also the main organiser of the CTL Monaco and his good friend, Bartlomiej Franczuk (POL), can reach historical heights, especially as they will have most probably the loudest supporters.

World silver medallists of 2024, Petra Pechy and her compatriot, Krisztina Acs (HUN), are the team to beat in women’s doubles. Multiple CTL medallist Maria Chedid (LBN), the world bronze medallist and European silver medallist, Amelie Julian (FRA) may be the toughest opponents. The battle for the third place in unpredictable. The rest of the field seems to be on the same level, but in Monaco, many questions will be answered.

For a very long time, two-time world champion Gyorgydeak is not considered to be one of the possible winners in mixed doubles. His teammate, Tunde Miklos (ROU), is a world bronze medallist from 2021 when they beat team USA in Gliwice. However, Miklos did not follow the path too closely ever since. Another Hungarian silver medallist double from the World Teqball Championships 2024 lead the boards. Acs/Katz almost surprised the Thais a few months ago, but in Monaco, they are the ones to be surprised. Pokwap/Julian is another strong opponent, just like the Pechy/Blazsovics twosome. Ewa Kaminska/Patryk Kaminski (POL) as well as Chedid/Levik are worth mentioning, and with outstanding performances, they can reach the podium.

The Challenger Teqball League Monaco runs from June 27th to 29th, with a prize pool of €3,000 to be distributed among the medallists across all four categories. The finals on Sunday will be streamed on TEQ TV
