FITEQ Strengthens Institutional Cooperation in Montenegro Through High-Level Meetings
The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) further strengthened its presence in Montenegro through a series of high-level meetings with the country’s leading sports institutions. The discussions focused on reinforcing institutional cooperation, advancing grassroots development, and exploring opportunities for hosting major international Teqball events in the country.
Ministry of Sports and Youth of Montenegro
During the visit to the Ministry of Sports and Youth of Montenegro, the FITEQ delegation was welcomed by Mr. Zoran Jojic, Director General of the Directorate for Sport. Mr. Jojic expressed his appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Ministry’s strong support for the continued development of Teqball in Montenegro.
He noted that since the establishment of the Teqball Federation of Montenegro, he has followed the sport’s growth with enthusiasm — not only within Montenegro but across the wider Adriatic region.
Highlighting already significant impact of the sport, Mr. Jojic stated:
“Through the Adriatic Teqball League, we have the opportunity to further promote not only the sport itself but also the beauty of Montenegro, considering that Teqball tournaments are held at some of the most attractive locations in the country. Furthermore, Teqball has enjoyed growing popularity among our youth in Montenegro, an exciting and excellent physical activity and driver for a healthy lifestyle. The Ministry continues to embrace the potential Teqball offers in sports infrastructure and school sports programmes as well, expertly coordinated and implemented through our partnership with the Montenegro Teqball Federation.”
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to leveraging Teqball as both a dynamic sporting discipline and a platform for promoting Montenegro internationally.
Secretariat for Sport of the Capital City
The delegation was received at the Secretariat for Sport of the Capital City, Podgorica, by Mr. Darko Nikcevic, Secretary of the Secretariat. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the strategic role of Teqball in strengthening youth engagement and further integrating the sport into the capital city’s dynamic sporting landscape.
Mr. Nikcevic emphasized the importance of the “Teqball in Schools” initiative, recognizing its educational and social value. Through this program, children are given the opportunity to engage in sport, develop healthy habits, and build values that help them grow into responsible and active members of society.
He also expressed hope that Podgorica — widely recognized as a city of sport — could, with the support of the national federation and FITEQ, host a major international Teqball event in the near future promoting the city on a global stage.
Montenegrin Olympic Committee
The Montenegrin Olympic Committee reaffirmed its institutional support for the development of Teqball in Montenegro. The Committee expressed its readiness to continue working jointly with the national federation and FITEQ to further strengthen the sport’s presence and long-term development within the country’s sporting ecosystem.
Particular emphasis was placed on the continuous and constructive cooperation between the Montenegrin Olympic Committee and the Montenegrin Teqball Federation, which stands as a strong example of a strategic partnership aimed at advancing sport development and creating new opportunities for athletes — including enhanced pathways and increased participation opportunities for women in sport.
This collaborative relationship reflects a shared commitment to inclusivity, institutional alignment, and the sustainable growth of Teqball within Montenegro’s national sports framework.
A Shared Vision for Sustainable Growth
Reflecting on the outcomes of the meetings, Mr. Milorad Sutulović, President of the Montenegrin Teqball Federation, emphasized the importance of structured cooperation and long-term vision:
“In moments like these, following our official meetings with key national and municipal institutions, I feel a deep sense of gratitude toward our strategic partners — the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ), the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Capital City of Podgorica. Their trust and cooperation have enabled us to move from vision to measurable impact.
Today, Montenegro has 134 Teqball tables installed across the country. For a nation of our size, this is not just a number — it represents access, opportunity, and a tangible investment in youth, physical activity, and community engagement. This is the result of structured collaboration, long-term commitment, and shared responsibility.
However, we see this as a milestone, not a finish line. Our strategic objective remains clear: to ensure that every school in Montenegro has access to a Teqball table. With the continued support of our institutional partners and the guidance of FITEQ, I am confident that this goal is within reach.”
These meetings mark another important step in FITEQ’s strategic expansion in the region, reinforcing its commitment to institutional cooperation, sustainable growth, and the organization of world-class international Teqball events.
Laszlo Vajda, FITEQ Secretary General remarked that “it is always an honour to conduct discussions on such high levels as the ministries and municipalities. These meetings reflect the growing interest in and popularity of our sport globally. And it is always a pleasure to collaborate with excellent colleagues, like President Milorad Šutulović and his team at the Montenegro Teqball Federation, who prove time and time again that with clear vision, determination and consistency, shining results can be achieved in sports development. Our gratitude and thanks go to the officials, colleagues and friends in Montenegro and we look forward to further advancing our continuing cooperation.”
The International Teqball Federation remains dedicated to building strong partnerships worldwide as part of its long-term vision to elevate Teqball on both regional and global levels.
