FITEQ Continues to Support Women’s Leadership Development Through the Women Mentor Program
The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) proudly continues its commitment to supporting initiatives that empower women in sport, as the Women Mentor Program organised by Womentor Nonprofit Ltd. is being held for the third consecutive year.
The multi-day mentorship program is designed for female athletes, coaches, and sports professionals from around the world, with the aim of providing participants with self-awareness-based leadership development, personal branding, communication, and management skills. Through the program, participants are encouraged to build a strong foundation for conscious leadership ambitions within the sports industry.
The initiative is supported by the Hungarian University of Sports Science as the main partner, while professional supporting partners include the Hungarian Coaches Association, SPORT TV, and, for the first time this year, the Hungarian Paralympic Committee. The program features a distinguished lineup of mentors, lecturers, and female leaders from various professional fields and business sectors.
Since 2021, FITEQ has proudly served as one of the professional mentor sites of the program, welcoming participants into the international environment of the federation and providing insights into the day-to-day operations of a global sports organisation.
As part of this year’s edition, mentee Kornelia Epres visited the FITEQ headquarters, where she had the opportunity to meet with leaders from several departments of the federation and gain first-hand experience about the operational structure and international activities of FITEQ.
Reflecting on her visit, Kornelia Epres shared the following thoughts:
“Thank you for the opportunity and for allowing me to be part of your day. The word I would use for the entire team is professionalism, and this can even be felt in the office atmosphere itself. Everyone is constantly moving and working, yet the whole space and even the entire building is filled with a calm sense of confidence. Structure and organisation are present on every level. I learned a great deal about technical details, different operational processes, and how the various systems function across departments. Everyone was kind and genuinely willing to share their knowledge.”
From the federation’s side, Reka Reichard, Head of International Relations — who also served as Kornelia’s mentor during the program — highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for women to gain insight into leadership roles within international sport.
“At FITEQ, we strongly believe that sharing knowledge, experience, and professional perspectives is essential for the future development of sport. It was a pleasure to welcome Kornelia to our headquarters and introduce her to the international operations of the federation. Programs of this nature support former elite athletes in transitioning into the professional environment while remaining actively engaged in sport. Furthermore, they create meaningful opportunities for future female leaders in sport to develop confidence, inspiration, and practical experience“.
FITEQ remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote education, leadership development, inclusion, and equal opportunities within the sporting world, and the federation is proud to continue participating in programs of this kind in the future.
