FITEQ Chairman Holds Strategic Meetings in Shandong Province to Strengthen Teqball Development in China
The Chairman of the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ), Dr Viktor Huszár, visited Shandong Province, China, where he held a series of official meetings with local delegates led by Meng Xiangdong, Secretary-General and President of the Shandong Provincial Council for Promoting International Trade, to discuss future cooperation and the continued development of Teqball. The discussions focused on strengthening existing partnerships and exploring new opportunities that could further expand the sport’s presence in the province and China.
Shandong Province has already played an important role in the recent growth of Teqball. In 2025, major international events were successfully organized in both Jinan, the provincial capital, and Dezhou, where Teqball World Series tournaments was held in front of thousands of spectators, demonstrating the strong local interest in the sport and the region’s capability to host high-level competitions.
During the meetings, the parties discussed the possibility of organizing further international events in the province, including potential future World Championships, as well as opportunities related to the manufacturing of Teqball tables locally. These initiatives represent significant steps forward for the sport in China and highlight the long-term commitment to building a sustainable Teqball ecosystem in the country.
The ongoing development comes at a particularly important time, as China prepares to host the Asian Beach Games in Sanya this April, where Teqball is on the official competition program. In parallel with event preparations, continuous coach education programs and athlete training camps are being organized to support the growth of the sport at both grassroots and elite levels.
China’s progress in Teqball development has also been supported by long-term investments in infrastructure and education. In 2024, the world’s first International Teqball Research Center was opened in China, marking a major milestone in the scientific and technical development of the sport.
These efforts have already produced encouraging results. At the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, the Chinese team achieved outstanding success, returning home with two silver medals — a clear sign of the rapid grassroot and youth progress made in recent years.
One of the key objectives of the current development strategy is to ensure that Chinese athletes can compete for top results at upcoming continental events, including the Asian Beach Games and the Asian Games in the autumn. With the support of local authorities, continuous professional training, and the successful organization of international competitions, China is steadily strengthening its position as one of the most important regions for the future growth of Teqball.
