Teqers turned up the heat in Montenegro, a new beginning in Austria

The brightest stars of the Teqball battled it out in Montenegro, and a new beach base of the sport was born in epic fashion in Austria.

It has been another busy couple of weeks for Teqball lovers as the brightest stars of the game battled it out in Montenegro, and a new beach base of the sport was born in epic fashion in Austria.

Surprisingly mild weather awaited the players and spectators at the Montenegrin Teqball League tournament on the 16th of July. But it did not take long for them to turn up the heat at the main square of Žabljak.

Teqers competed in the men's doubles category, where 28 competitors of 14 teams from all parts of Montenegro tried to get their hands on the trophy. But they had no chance against the Kurjaci team and its representatives Marko Žarković and Andrija Jovanović, who were on fire at the event. In the finals, they beat Stroj LOB team represented by Željko Janković and Veljko Ljumović with the result 12:10, 7:12, 12:9.

Although it was a professional tournament, the organizers gave special attention to the fans with various side events. Before the first semi-final, younger visitors had a chance to participate in the ’Intersport Challenge’ competition, while the adult spectators were also included in the program, through 'LOBuj Matiju’, a sponsor’s activity by the league’s official betting partner, LOB kladionice.

The audience even got their own Teq table, where all visitors could give a go at one of the sports played on the equipment.

A new beginning in Austria

Spread the word, Austria is getting curved! The cooperation of Podersdorf Tourism and the Austrian Teqball Association has reached a new milestone by setting up the sport’s iconic curved tables at the first official fixed beach Teqball base of the country. The new sporting venue is located at Podobeach, besides Lake Neusiedl.

From now on, an outdoor infrastructure suitable for competitions is available all year round to try out the Teq sports or to train regularly. Two Teqball One tables suitable for national and international tournaments were put in place and the required framework conditions for competitions were created. The Austrian Teqball Association is hopeful that the brand new Teqball base will support the establishment of the sport significantly.
