Beijing sports delegation visits FITEQ to strengthen ties for future
A delegation from the Beijing Olympic City Development Association visited FITEQ's headquarters and Teqball table factory in Budapest to strengthen cooperation in developing Teqball in China. The visit included the signing of an MoU to bring major Teqball events, including a potential World Championship, to Beijing.
A delegation of senior officials from Beijing’s Olympic institutions visited the headquarters of the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) and the Teqball manufacturing facility in Budapest this week, marking a significant step in strengthening Sino-Hungarian sports cooperation.
Led by Mr Fu Xiaohui, Vice Chairperson and Secretary General of the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA), the visit included key figures such as the head of BODA’s Administration Department, the Project Manager of its International Relations Department, and the Director of the Management Committee of the Beijing Olympic Central Area. Their presence highlighted Beijing’s strategic interest in expanding the reach of emerging sports like Teqball.
During the visit, Mr. Viktor Huszar, Chairman of FITEQ, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chinese delegation, formalising plans to deepen collaboration. Among the key outcomes was a mutual commitment to host future World Teqball Championships in Beijing and to continue developing the sport in the region.
This follows last year’s successful Teqball World Series debut in the Chinese capital, which stood out as the most lucrative event of the season with a total prize pool of $60,000 USD. Building on this momentum, both sides expressed a strong desire to integrate Teqball into the wider sports and cultural fabric of the Beijing Olympic Central Area.
The delegation also toured the state-of-the-art Teqball table factory, gaining insight into the innovation and production processes behind the sport’s rapid global rise. The visit concluded with a shared vision of bringing Teqball to more communities and establishing Beijing as a key hub for future international competitions.
