WR – Titles in Győr Trigger Early 2026 Ranking Moves

The latest world ranking update reflects a decisive weekend in Győr, where two events, the Challenger Teqball League and the Teqball Open, reshaped multiple categories across the board.

In men’s singles, momentum belongs to Bogdan Marojevic (SRB). His title run in Győr pushed him up two places into 8th in the FITEQ world ranking, allowing him to overtake Boonkoom Tipwong (THA) and Martin Csereklye (HUN). It is a measured climb, but one that confirms his growing consistency at the top end of the category. Behind him, Balazs Katz (HUN) recorded one of the most notable moves of the update. Despite falling short in the final against Marojevic, Katz jumped three places, moving ahead of Uthen Kukheaw (THA) and Benjamin Patrik Toth (HUN). Further down the table, Gergo Varga (HUN) continues his steady progress, overtaking Aaron Servin (MEX) to reach 33rd place. The biggest jump in the category belongs to Martin Biros (SVK), who climbed six places after reaching the round of 16.

The women’s singles ranking was shaped by a strong showing at the Teqball Open. Following her victory in Győr, Amelie Julian (FRA) moved closer to her first podium position in the world ranking. Her semi-final win over third-ranked Anna Izsak (HUN) came in three sets and proved pivotal in her title run. Elsewhere, Nina Steinbauer (AUT) and Agnieszka Zmudzka (POL) each moved up one place, now sitting 26th and 32nd respectively. A notable return also marked the update, as Gabriella Kota (HUN) competed in women’s singles for the first time in nearly three years and finished in second place. That result sees her re-enter the world ranking at 72nd place.

In men’s doubles, the top 35 remained unchanged, highlighting stability at the top of the category. Just outside that group, Daniel Botond Varga (HUN) jumped two places and now sits 37th. Portuguese players continued to gain ground, with European Youth Teqball Championships bronze medallists Martim Vasques (POR) and Goncalo Reis (POR) climbing three and two places respectively. Both now feature inside the top 50, marking Reis’ first entry into that range.

In mixed doubles, Nora Vicsek (HUN) matched her career-best ranking of 18th after a second-place finish at the Challenger Teqball League Győr. Maria Clement (POR) also moved up one place to 44th following her fifth-place finish alongside Vasques. Further movement saw Daniel Neuhold (AUT) and Nina Steinbauer overtake Matyas Odnoga (HUN), with both now positioned at 46th.

As the calendar moves deeper into 2026, the competition schedule is accelerating. The Calgary Teqball Tournament, the Challenger Teqball League - Odorheiu Secuiesc and the Teqball Open - Abrantes all take place in February, setting the stage for further movement in next month’s FITEQ world ranking update.
