Teqball gains official recognition in Indonesia, marking key milestone for future growth

The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) proudly acknowledges the official recognition of Teqball by the National Sports Committee of Indonesia, the supreme state sports authority in the country, marking a significant step forward in the sport’s development across Southeast Asia.

This milestone represents an important achievement for the national federation and highlights the growing momentum of Teqball in Indonesia, one of the region’s most dynamic and rapidly developing sporting markets.

With this recognition, Teqball is now positioned to further expand its presence nationwide, opening new opportunities for structured competitions, grassroots initiatives, and athlete development programs. The inclusion within the national sports framework is expected to accelerate the sport’s integration into Indonesia’s sporting ecosystem and strengthen its pathway toward international success.

Indonesia has already demonstrated strong commitment to the growth of Teqball, with increasing participation levels and continuous efforts to introduce the sport to new communities. The recognition by the national governing body provides a solid foundation to build on these efforts and elevate the sport to new heights. Ms Susan Soebakti, the Secretary General of the Indonesia Teqball Federation is now a member of the FITEQ Executive Board, further contributing to the wide recognition of the local progress of Teqball.

From a global perspective, this development aligns with FITEQ’s strategic vision to expand Teqball’s footprint across Asia, a region that continues to play a crucial role in the sport’s international growth. With major upcoming events such as the Asian Beach Games 2026, where Teqball will feature as a medal sport, the timing of this recognition further reinforces the sport’s rising profile on the continent.

FITEQ remains committed to supporting the Indonesian Teqball community in its next phase of development, working closely with local stakeholders to promote the sport, nurture talent, and create new opportunities both on and off the field of play.
