Teqball Continues to Grow Across Montenegro and the Region Through Education, Competition, and Development Initiatives
The International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) is pleased to highlight a series of important developments in Montenegro and the wider Adriatic region, reflecting the sport’s steady growth through grassroots programs, competitive structures, and institutional partnerships.
Teqball in Schools Expands to Southern Montenegro
Following the successful rollout of the “Teqball in Schools” initiative in the northern and central regions of the country, the program has now reached southern Montenegro, marking another significant milestone in its nationwide expansion.
Implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the initiative continues to bring Teqball directly into educational environments, introducing students and teachers to the sport through structured activities and demonstrations.
As part of this latest phase, Teqball tables were delivered to several educational institutions in the city of Bar, where dedicated presentation sessions were also held. These events provided students with the opportunity to actively engage with the sport, further strengthening Teqball’s presence within the school system.
With this expansion, the program moves closer to its long-term objective of making Teqball accessible in all secondary schools across Montenegro—an important step in building a sustainable grassroots foundation for the sport.
Montenegrin Teqball League Kicks Off 2026 Season
The competitive calendar in Montenegro also officially began with the first tournament of the Montenegrin Teqball League in 2026, held in Podgorica at the Public Institution Secondary Mixed School Golubovci.
The event brought together 50 participants competing across three categories, showcasing both emerging talents and established players. The tournament not only marked the start of a new season but also demonstrated the growing level of competition within the national Teqball community.
Among the standout performances, Andrija Jovanović made an impressive return from injury, securing the doubles title. Marko Žarković continued his strong form by dominating the singles competition, while Miron Pak, alongside Viorica Tonu, celebrated their first gold medal—highlighting the emergence of new successful pairings on the national stage.
Regional Development Continues with Table Donation in Ohrid
Beyond Montenegro, development efforts within the Adriatic region also continue to gain momentum. As part of the Adriatic Teqball League activities, a Teqball table donation was carried out in Ohrid ahead of the upcoming tournament scheduled for June 13.
A Teqball table was donated to the secondary school “Sv. Kliment Ohridski” through the support of the company Trimaks. The occasion was marked by a dedicated presentation event, where students were introduced to the fundamentals of the sport through live demonstrations and interactive sessions.
Building a Strong and Sustainable Future
These initiatives underline the continued commitment of FITEQ and its partners to developing Teqball at all levels—from grassroots education to competitive pathways and regional cooperation.
By expanding school programs, strengthening national leagues, and supporting infrastructure development through donations, Teqball continues to build a solid foundation for long-term growth across Montenegro and the broader Adriatic region.
