German Teqball Tour Continues with Successful Second Stop in Karlsruhe
The German Teqball Tour continued its 2026 season with its second stop held in Karlsruhe on May 14–15, bringing together Germany’s growing Teqball community and a strong international field for two days of competition.
Launched in 2026, the German Teqball Tour was created to strengthen the national competition structure, connect players through regular events and support the continued development of Teqball across the country. Following the opening event in Hanover in March, the series also introduced an official national ranking system, with overall German Teqball Tour champions to be crowned in each category at the end of the season.
The Karlsruhe stop was hosted by Karlsruher SV, which organised its first-ever Teqball tournament at its home venue. Competition was held across all five official categories, underlining the growing depth and structure of the sport in Germany.
For the first time in German Teqball Tour history, international wildcard players also joined the competition. Several top athletes from nearby Mulhouse, France — including Lionel Beyer (FRA), Jean-Thery Belus (FRA), Amelie Julian (FRA) and Maria Chedid (LEB) — travelled to Karlsruhe alongside a number of young talents, adding further quality and international experience to the event.
In the men’s events, female players were also allowed to compete, although they did not collect ranking points. Nevertheless, world No. 4 Amelie Julian impressed in the men’s singles category, finishing in shared third place alongside Till Bockholt (GER) . The final saw Germany’s rising talent Elias Petzold (GER) face France’s Lionel Beyer, with Beyer’s experience proving decisive as he claimed the men’s singles title.
The mixed doubles category delivered several closely contested matches throughout the tournament. In the final, Daytona Hansen (GER) and Mattes Wisbar (GER) faced Jon Nielsen (GER) and Lebanese national team player Maria Chedid. Hansen and Wisbar showed excellent chemistry and secured the gold medal, repeating their success from the opening German Teqball Tour event in Hanover. Third place went to Amelie Julian and Yannic Stächelin.
The men’s doubles event also saw international wildcard players reach the podium. In the final, Daytona Hansen and Jon Nielsen defeated reigning German champions Mattes Wisbar and Till Bockholt. Shared third place went to Amelie Julian / Maria Chedid and Lionel Beyer / Andres Allue.
In the women’s singles competition, Amelie Julian lived up to her status as favourite, taking gold ahead of Daytona Hansen and Maria Chedid. Julian and Chedid also dominated the women’s doubles category, earning a second gold medal together. Daytona Hansen and Nelly Wilke finished second, while Marleen Brüser and Chantal Neves secured third place.
Following successful events in Hanover and Karlsruhe, the German Teqball Tour will continue in Hamburg-Schnelsen in June, as the race for the 2026 national ranking titles gathers momentum.
